Our Story

We believe in the good in people. We believe in the collective consciousness and how each choice we make as individuals affects us all as a whole. We also believe in beauty and practicality. LilyBee Wrap works hard to combine these things, to make it a little easier for us all to choose a plastic wrap alternative. So far we have saved 48 million metres of plastic from entering our oceans and land. With steps like this together, we can change the world.

LilyBee Wrap was born from a desire to create an easy, eco-friendly food wrap option that both worked well,  without sacrificing beauty. We hate using plastic (especially when it’s only for single use) so we started looking for alternatives.

After trying just beeswax and experimenting with a few recipes online that didn't really work we decided to create our own eco-friendly food wrap. We finally found something that worked, and are excited to share it! Our beeswax wraps are made in New Zealand with the highest quality ingredients, 100% cotton, locally and sustainable sourced beeswax, organic coconut oil and tree resin. All of our packaging is PEFC (Sustainable Forestry) certified, and our fabric and printing is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). We are a certified B Corporation and Living Wage Accredited employer.

LilyBee Wrap is a woman owned and operated business, and as we have grown from a little pot in a small kitchen to a large scale operation with 15 employees, community has remained at the heart of the business with team lunches, eco culture and flexible hours to allow mothers to work around their family life. We even have a milk truck here every week to refill glass milk bottles for our team and the locals! As we continue to grow, our core values of quality, community and sustainability will anchor all our decision making throughout the business.

The natural beauty of our location, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand cannot help but inspire, and often wonder if the bees we see around our home help make the wax that is so lovingly applied to each wrap.

Let's do good by the environment. And we all deserve a little more beauty in the kitchen and our lives. Join the LilyBee family and use less plastic. It's small steps like these that help change the world.
